Excellent video. I HATED my Freedom Fox until I accepted it wasn't a STOL airplane. Now that I fly it as a sport aerobatic plane, it is a lot of fun. But, it was definitely marketed wrong.

5:30 my AeroScout Mini requires a LOT of rudder to turn, but then again, it IS 3CH and the rudder isnt exactly massive

My first plane crashed right after takeoff while my trainer was taking off and it slammed itself into the ground at mach 10 on my 5 flight Second plane crashed into the ocean when doing my landing approach and it would not be turning because of the trainer system failing making it so we would not control the plane till to late

I've avoided watching this video since it came out because I was worried it would be a hit piece on someone. As much as I didn't want to see anyone unfairly targeted, there are some compelling details left out of the story. This would be much more interesting if others involved in the journey of FT had been interviewed.

The real issue now is that you have two front wheels at the center of mass, which provide two different points of fulcrum from the ground to the frame for "control". Without differentials, the wheel speed ends up causing issues, and they both want to travel away from each other. It gets more complicated this way. Originally, one wheel in the front actually governed the wheels behind it. Try putting some toe angle on the big wheels, and more resistance on the back wheel, if you truly wanted to test this more. Toe-in will actually force the rear-end up. By the time you try to pull up, it'll slap the rear end, again, though. Not the best frame to work with for testing, but the obvious is clear.

as a newcomer, I'm scared to join any flight clubs and/or get large planes because of government regulations (remote ID or whatever it's called) and the toxic communities. I wish the hobby could be looked at through a new perspective- one where it is taken seriously, but not grouped into the same boat as DJI drones that will somehow take over the world by taking advantage of their clumsy pilots.

It's not the market that caused this, it's the dishonest company that started it. You can say we are dumb because we should know. But that's not how it works in a specialized society, leaving stuff to others and doing different stuff yourself and be able to trust eachother is the basis of developing a society. So the company that started all this crap should be boycotted to oblivion. In short, this is pure evil.

One of you engineering geniuses needs to invent a device that can flip your water planes back over in the event they get stuck on their backs like turtles way out there in the middle lol.... (how that would work, idk lol, but I'm envisioning some sort of flat rod/stick that would work as an arm almost lol, pushing against the water to lift the plane up and back over, but yeah, that's about as stupid as I can make it lol, so who knows lol)....

I got tall grass on the side so if i need to emervency land i slow down and crash in it the plane doesent get damage and i dont need to stress is situasions

I've had a ton of fun with those "god awful" amazon planes. If it wasn't for those, I never would have stumbled upon Flite Test. And, to be honest, I direct everyone who asks me about getting into the hobby to those cheap planes.
